What's in a name? Kwan Yin is the model of Chinese beauty. And to say a lady or a little girl is a Kwan Yin is the highest compliment that can be paid to grace and loveliness. Kwan Yin is also know as the goddess and protector of women and children. Some of the beautiful little carvings of Kwan Yin depict her wearing what looks like a kimono with flowing handkerchief edges; like in this pattern.
The Kwan Yin Kimono is another wonderful modular design garment composed entirely of various sized rectangles. It wraps and ties for a flattering fit with an interesting hemline created by godets attached at the sides. It can also be worn open or tied at the front. The Kwan Yin Kimono is great for 14" kimono panels and other narrow width fabrics. It is elegant when made with drapey fabrics such as silk, rayon, velvet or very lightweight cotton.
The pattern can be constructed using Kayla's signature seaming techniques: rolled hem edges with multi-stitch zigzag connection; rolled hem edges with bar tacks or decorative dot connections; lined panels with bar tacks or decorative dot connections. Standard sewing instructions are also included.
Pattern includes all sizes (XS to XXL). Due to varying seaming techniques, pattern does not include seam allowances.
