This pattern has big WOW factor built right in. A feminine and fanciful jacket made from rectangular panels with triangular godets inserted between the panels to create a peplum from the waist. It is incredibly versatile. Wear it open or buttoned or make the cross-over and tie version for a spectacular blouse. The back panel can be straight but for more drama add the bustle and split panel. Optional darts accentuate the waist but can be left out for a looser fit. The whole look varies depending on your fabric choice.
Kayla's signature seaming technique using a serger rolled hem edge connected with a multi-stitch zigzag eliminates seam allowances and bulk, Choose 40wt rayon embroidery thread in a contrasting colour and it will look like satin piped seams. You may also sew conventional seams.
Pattern includes all sizes (XS to XXL). Due to varying seaming techniques, pattern does not include seam allowances.
You can change the look of the Fantasia in so many ways that you will never tire of this pattern:
Summer Dress: Leave off the sleeves, lengthen the panels, use only one godet per inset (largest and enlarge to fit longer panels), use cross-over and tie version.
Wedding Dress: Make the same adjustments as for summer dress except leave off lapel, use fancy lace edges for neckline, armholes, use three godets of silk chiffon or soft lace. Make a simple long skirt of silk and tulle to wear underneath.
Tuxedo Jacket: Use black crushed silk/rayon velvet for the panels and sleeves, use silk satin or charmeuse in black for the lapels, ties and godets. You may use one, two or three godets depending on how much drama you want to create. Drapey silks look luxurious in the Fantasia. Top each peak of the godets with a satin covered button.
Organza Jacket: Wear this over your LBD. Use straight front option in black silk organza, with only two layers of the godets (largest and smallest), including bustle, Try fuchsia or other bright dramatic 40wt embroidery rayon for Kayla's signature rolled hem seaming technique. Add a tiny silk bow at each godet peak in the same colour as your rayon thread.
Evening Jacket: Made up in our Burmese Silk Blend, this jacket is smashing. Use coordinating or contrasting colours for the lapels and godets. Pair it with the Perennial Pant in silk blend for a comfortable yet stylish set.
