Batik Rayon - Ancient Earthenware Effect

Calculated at checkout

Product Description

The Bali Effect batik is made from the finest quality rayon available in Southeast Asia. This fabric is especially milled with a dense thread count so that it wrinkles less, dyes beautifully and sews easily. The best quality dyes are used to ensure colourfastness wash after wash.

The sophisticated free fall leaf design is based on a stencil by Diane Ericson.

The creation of this fabric involves several complex processes of dyeing and hand manipulation. The fabric is pinned up to dry, resulting in small holes along the selvedges. This is not considered a defect. Occasionally there may be traces of mud or wax resist on the fabric, This comes off when you pre-wash the fabric.

This fabric coordinates with Free Fall Ancient Earthenware.

Looking for thread? Mettler Metrosene Plus 200m Col. 234 - Cinder is recommended. This fabric has many different hues, therefore Col. 234 is not a perfect match but should blend in nicely for seams and topstitching.
