L.J. Designs patterns are stylish, yet simple to construct and comfortable to wear. L. J. Designs is a member of the Independent Pattern Company Allliance (IPCA) ensuring quality in pattern production. 
The Independent Pattern Company Alliance (IPCA) is made up of Independent Fashion Pattern companies who have joined forces to increase awareness of quality independent pattern companies. Our goal is to support each other by developing and implementing marketing plans that produce a greater presence for our products in both the retail and wholesale fashion sewing market, and set the standard for Independent Pattern Companies. Patterns must be of high quality and include all of the following:

1. Professional packaging
2. Professionally drafted
3. Professionally graded when appropriate
4. Thorough well written and illustrated instruction sheets

Lyla is the owner of L. J. Designs, specializing in design, publication and distribution of patterns, freelance teaching, participation in consumer shows and seminars, and writing. Her varied background enriches her current capacity, and includes adult and high school education, retail sewing store ownership, ready-to-wear factory experience, and professional dressmaking. She holds a B.A. degree in Home Economics Education and a masters degree in Clothing and Textiles.

L. J. Designs Measurement Chart

Use the sizing chart on the pattern envelope to match your measurements to the correct size for that garment.  All sizes are included in one envelope, so you can easily combine them for a custom fit.  For example, on the pattern pieces with multiple cutting lines, you might use the cutting line for one size in the bust and waist area, but gradually move over to the the next size cutting line for the hip area.

Sized from XX - Small to XX - Large or 4 XL, each pattern is multi-sized for easy pattern alteration for the perfect fit. Since these patterns are simple in line, they are the perfect background for personalization and embellishment with an abundance of techniques which Lyla willingly shares with cheerful consent.
